The athletes have been diligently preparing and honing their skills in anticipation of the Shaw Classic where 16 of the top strongest men will be competing for the new title of “The Strongest Man on Earth.”
In this year's Shaw Classic, AIRWAAV is represented by four athletes: Mitchell Hooper, Max Boudreault, Bobby Thompson and Sam Belliveau.

Mitchell Hooper
Mitchell Hooper, nicknamed "The Moose," has been on an impressive winning streak this year. He claimed victory at the 2023 Arnold Classic and secured the esteemed title of World's Strongest man in the WSM competition held in South Carolina this past April. More recently he secured 3rd at the 2023 Giants Live Strongman Classic. Hoopers hunger for success remains unbated, as he sets his signs on pursuing his next championship triumph.
“At the Shaw Classic, I am going to remind everyone why I am the World's Strongest Man. I have left no stone unturned in this prep. I am ready.”
Maxime Boudreault
A tibial fracture prevented Boudreault from participating in both the 2023 Arnold Classic and the World's Strongest Man competition. However, he has now made a strong comeback, showing remarkable improvement and determination.
“I really enjoyed the prep for the Shaw to prove to myself that I can not only climb back up to where I was - but to come back stronger than ever. I’m really excited to battle it out with the boys. This one is for me..I’m back!”
Bobby Thompson
After sustaining a hamstring injury during the 2022 Shaw Classic and subsequently withdrawing from the competition, Bobby Thompson, who achieved 3rd place at the 2022 America's Strongest Man and the 2023 Arnold Classic, is determined to exhibit his strength once again at the upcoming Shaw Classic.
“Leading up to the Shaw Classic I've had moments of extreme confidence and concern which is normal. But I'm a completely different athlete this time around. I'm lighter, stronger, more dynamic, and to say I'm conditioned is an understatement.”
In addition to the 2023 Shaw Classic, the Open competition for weight division Strongmen and Strongwomen will return for the second consecutive year.
Sam Belliveau
Sam Belliveau will make her second appearance at the Shaw Classic. Having secured 5th place at the 2022 Shaw Classic and 7th place in the 2023 Arnold Classic Championship, she is eagerly looking forward to displaying her talents at the competition.
