FITTING & USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

MICROWAVE APPROACH

(RECOMMENDED)

TO FIT THE AIRWAAV RX1 YOU WILL NEED:

  • Microwave
  • Paper Towel
  • Plate
  • Slotted Spoon
  • Mirror

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: PROTECT

Roll up part of a dripping wet paper towel and place it in between the channels of the mouthpiece to help prevent the walls from folding when heating the mouthpiece.

STEP 2: COVER

Cover the plate with a dripping wet paper towel and place the AIRWAAV in the middle of the plate with the side walls of the mouthpiece facing up. Cover the AIRWAAV performance mouthpiece by folding up the soaked paper towel.

STEP 3: MICROWAVE

Place the plate in the microwave and heat for 1 minute and 30 seconds. (Add more time if needed based on microwave power level)

STEP 4: RETRIEVE AND SET

After taking it out from the microwave, allow it to cool on the plate for 3 seconds. Carefully unwrap the paper towels and place the mouthpiece on your bottom teeth to mold (please use caution, the mouthpiece and paper towels may still be hot).

STEP 5: MOLD

While looking into a mirror, carefully place the AIRWAAV on your bottom teeth and avoid the sidewalls from closing in by having your teeth placed in the center of the bite channel. The mouthpiece will be in the correct position once the front intake Bar is sitting behind your front lower teeth. The front Intake Bar should not be on top of your lower front teeth. Once the mouthpiece is in the correct position, mold by:

  • Gently biting down
  • Periodically pressing your fingers into the sidewalls of the mouthpiece to push the soft fitting material around your teeth.
  • Keep the mouthpiece in your mouth for at a minimum of 5 MINUTES. The longer you keep it in, the better the fit will be the following day.
STEP 6: RECHARGE YOUR POTENTIAL

After at least 5 minutes of molding the AIRWAAV in your mouth, place the molded device back in its case to solidify the material. It is recommended to wait 24 hours after the molding step before using the mouthpiece, as AIRWAAV's patented fitting material will continue to shrink and provide a tighter fit during that time.

BOILING APPROACH

TO FIT THE AIRWAAV RX1 YOU WILL NEED:

  • Stove
  • Pot
  • Slotted Spoon
  • Mirror

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1: BOIL

Fill a pot with enough water so that the mouthpiece can be submerged without touching the bottom of the pot and heat on a stove.

STEP 2: DROP

Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat and drop the mouthpiece into the boiling water. Leave the mouthpiece in the water for one minute.

STEP 3: RETRIEVE & SET

Retrieve the mouthpiece using a slotted spoon and carefully set it on a plate to cool for 3 seconds. After allowing it to cool, place the mouthpiece on your bottom teeth to mold.

STEP 4: MOLD

While looking into a mirror, carefully place the AIRWAAV on your bottom teeth and avoid the sidewalls from closing in by having your teeth placed in the center of the bite channel. The mouthpiece will be in the correct position once the front intake Bar is sitting behind your front lower teeth. The front Intake Bar should not be on top of your lower front teeth. STEP 6: RECHARGE YOUR POTENTIAL

FITTING TIPS

  • Post-Molding: The longer you retain the mouthpiece post-molding, the better it will fit. The material will start to shrink as it cools, providing a customizable fit. We recommend a minimum of 5 minutes.
  • Trimming: If the mouthpiece feels too large, causing discomfort or gagging, you can carefully trim it for a better fit.
  • Patience is Key: It typically takes about 3-4 weeks to fully acclimate to the mouthpiece, and it can be new for many athletes. Initial feelings of awkwardness or discomfort are normal. Push through this phase, and soon you won't even notice it's there.
  • Re-Molding: If the mouthpiece does not have the initial fit you are looking for, re-mold it using the same process as needed.
  • Cleanliness: To ensure longevity and hygiene, always clean your mouthpiece with the AIRWAAV Mouthpiece Cleaner between uses.

  • Within the first week of use, you may notice excessive saliva or dry mouth, this is normal for many individuals and should stop.
  • While laying down, your tongue may move about the front intake bar. This is completely normal - the important thing is that your tongue has moved forward and out of the airway.
  • Due to the unfamiliar sensation that some may feel wearing a mouthpiece while sleeping, some users may find it harder to fall asleep the first night. Over time, you will feel more accustomed to the mouthpiece and will forget it is even there.
  • For best results, we recommend consistent use, it will help your body adjust faster.
